Why Share the Dharma?

Why Share the Dharma

The decision to share the most precious Dharma arose from the teachings, that all sentient beings have been our old mothers (fathers) at one time or another. The deep poignancy, a kind of touching of inconsolable sadness — the moment of realising that life, with all its freedoms and endowments, is quietly slipping through the fingers while the mind remained unaware, untrained, and uninhabited by mindful presence.

The shock of recognising of not consciously and deliberating placing mindfulness on the horse of awareness — no recognition to register the deeper reality of the two truths, or to plant connection to perceiving the indivisible unity of:

  • relative conventional truth — the functioning world of cause, conditions, and effects
  • ultimate reality — empty awareness, free from inherent existence

Without a harnessing compassionate skilful means method practice- realising wisdom emptiness of mind, the horse (potential awareness to recognise itself), instead simply wanders through life, driven by habit, conceptual imputation, and unaware self‑adherence.

The Pain of Realising the Opportunity is Being Lost

When a teacher of the dharma pointed out that the most precious opportunity — a human life with freedoms and endowments — is passing by unutilised. Unawareness for this incalculably rare opportunity, the sadness is not sentimental. It is existential.

It is the recognition that:

  • The Four Noble Truths present, but unrecognised.
  • The Four Seals true, but unseen.
  • The Six Paramitas — generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, concentration, wisdom — available, but unpractised.

This sadness is not despair; it is clarity. It is the moment one sees the cost of ignorance (unawareness).

The Turning Point: Interrupting Ignorance

From that clarity arises a vow: to interrupt the momentum of unawareness.

To stop the mind from living second‑hand, trapped in conceptual overlays and self‑adherent identity. To plant the awakening path directly into the mindstream — the ongoing mental continuum that carries habits, tendencies, and potential.

This is not a philosophical decision. It is a survival instinct of the awakened heart.

Why Share the Dharma With Others?

Once you see how easily life can pass by without inner awareness recognition. You see (through the deeper awareness insight), the wandering in unaware conditioned mind patterns (reifications). You notice all around, wayfaring beings (in states of unawareness), and cannot bear the thought of others losing their chance totally oblivious.

Sharing the Dharma becomes:

  • An act of compassion for addressing unawareness, like an empty saddle.
  • A way to help others so they do not suffer the same inconsolable regret.
  • A commitment to help minds recognise their own empty-luminous awareness. Rather than mistakenly cling to mere fixated concepts in the mind, (obscuring their liberation-realisation in non-dual awareness wisdom).
  • A continuation of the vow of inner practice to bring all appearances to the mind onto the path of liberation, (through skilful means practice methods).

It is awakening mind out of: unaware merely conditioned habits, reification of conceptual attachment, (to mistaken perception, of the five contaminated aggregates of mind arising the dualistic appearance).

The Role of the Three Refuges

The Three Jewels (Refuges for mind).
Buddha (awake to the true nature of reality), Dharma (the teachings of the non-dual path), Sangha (practitioners on the path and supportive conditions). They are three supports (and compass guidance) that helps lead the mind out of:

  • unaware self‑adherence
  • conceptual reification
  • dualistic misapprehension
  • karmic momentum

The skilful means practice methods provide the structure, refuge for mind (of its wisdom awareness), and methods for ordinary consciousness transformation into empty, compassionate wisdom awareness.

Closing Insight

The Dharma is shared because of seeing what happens when it is not known. The pointlessness of merely sleepwalking through the most precious opportunity, a human life offers without further deeper exploration of the science of phenomenal reality for example. There is an antidote to suffering; this is the purpose of unmistaken path of non-dual compassion realising wisdom aware emptiness. The arising of bodhicitta; the heartfelt wish to awaken swiftly through compassion and help others cycling in samsara unawares. It is non-abiding nirvana of the bodhisattvas intention, to return to samsara delusion until all beings are liberated from attachment to mistaken dualistic perception.
